“The Prototype”
The shape, size, and material of a room directly influences the emotional connection a person will have with a space. Sierra Edwards’ series of large, geometric installations provide emotional refuge to participants by interrupting existing architectures. “The Prototype” was the first of his installations to employ the concept.
The tall trapezoidal shape, first utilized in “The Prototype,” would become a popular architectural volume in the installation series to follow. Its tapered design allows participants to sit, stand, and pass through the narrow length of the structure.
